A professional bike fit is one of the best things you can do for your riding, but a proper studio session usually costs somewhere between 150 and 400 euros. That price makes sense when a fitter is fixing a genuine biomechanical problem or optimizing an athlete's position for racing. But most cyclists aren't in that situation. Most of us just want a straight answer to a simple question: is my saddle roughly at the right height, is my reach reasonable, and is anything obviously off? Paying hundreds of euros to find out "your saddle is 1.5 cm too low" never felt right to me, so I built a tool that answers that question from a couple of photos, for free or close to it.

I'm a senior software engineer based in France, and I build Pedalyze in my free time. Over the years I've led a frontend team, spoken at international conferences, and written on my technical blog. I've also worked in quite a few places around the world, from Europe to Southeast Asia. When I'm not at the keyboard, you'll find me running, hiking, cooking, or cycling!

Pedalyze is built on a few opinions I hold about bike fitting, not just a feature list:

• •Most riders don't have a complex problem. A quick, honest check against known-good ranges catches the obvious issues — saddle height, reach, bar drop — without a 300-euro appointment.
• •A photo and software can't replace a certified fitter for injuries, asymmetries, or performance optimization at a high level. Pedalyze is a first screening, not the final word — I say so directly in the app.
• •You should see the actual angles and ranges, not just a number. If a number tells you to change something, you should be able to see why.
